Miners' Campaign Tapes DVD

A collection of short films giving an inside view of the 19845 miners' strike. Various independent filmmakers decided to show their support for the miners' strike using the tools they had available their cameras. On the picket lines, at the marches and in the soup kitchens, they recorded the testimonies of striking miners, their wives and supporters, in a fight against the anti-strike propaganda that dominated the mainstream media. The films they produced are a crucial document of a cataclysmic episode of British history, which ended in defeat for the miners and for the trade union movement as a whole.
