Two young sisters are haunted by the ghost of their dead mother in this paranormal horror from director Andrs Muschietti. On the day after their parents are killed, Victoria Megan Charpentier and Lilly Isabelle Nlisse disappear from their suburban home without a trace. Five years later, a man out walking in the woods discovers the now feral girls living in a rundown shack. As the girls try to return to a normal life after being taken in by their uncle Lucas Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and his girlfriend Annabel Jessica Chastain, chillingly ominous signs begin to convince the couple that, along with the girls, something else has come to stay.
